The need is constant, the gratification is instant. Give Blood. Be a Donor

American Red Cross Blood Drive – The American Red Cross Donation frequency: Every 56 day, you must be in good health and feeling well, you must be at least 16 years old in most states, you must weigh at least 110 lbs. Most medications will not disqualify you from being able to donate blood but may require a waiting period after your final dose. Unable to give blood? Consider volunteering. You can also help people facing emergencies by making a financial donation to support the Red Cross’s greatest needs. Your gift enables the Red Cross to ensure an ongoing blood supply, provide humanitarian support to families in need and prepare communities by teaching lifesaving skills.

Be the Match Bone Marrow Donation – Uses a simple cheek swab to get a sample of your DNA. To be eligible you must be between the ages of 18-60, live in the US and meet health guidelines. Refer to BE the Match website for further details. Bethematch.com

New England Donor Services – New England Donor Services coordinates organ and tissue donation in the six New England states and Bermuda. Through its two affiliated organ procurement organizations, Life Choice Donor Services (LCDS) and New England Organ Bank (NEOB) and its centralized tissue donation services operation, NEDS serves thousands of donor families each year who have generously made the decision to donate. If you do not want to be a donor there are other ways to help, volunteer or make a financial donation. NEDS.org
