Assistive Listening Devices, visual alert smoke and carbon detector devices, vibrating alarm clocks, and visual phone and doorbell signalers are just some of the technological aids available to enhance one’s awareness of sounds in the home, workplace, and in the community. Captioned phones facilitate the use of the phone and a captioning service enabling individuals with hearing loss to comprehend speakers on the phone both landline and cell phones.
